Danish Astronautical Society
The Danish Astronautical Society was founded September 20th 1949. The Society is devoted to the peaceful uses of space and constitutes the Danish section of the IAF (the International Astronautical Federation), which was founded in 1950 by the national astronautical societies.
The society arranges public meetings, lectures, company visits, portrait meetings and exhibitions, brings together people interested in space, issues press information and represents Denmark in the IAF. In order to strengthen professional interest, the society has established six workgroups, which focus on specific disciplines of space research:
Workgroup A: Satellite communications and -navigation.
Workgroup B: Manned spaceflight and microgravity research.
Workgroup C: Planetary exploration and space based astronomy.
Workgroup D: Earth observation and space based meteorology.
Workgroup E: Space technology.
Workgroup F: Spaceflight in general.
As a member, you will receive our magazine Dansk Rumfart (Danish Spaceflight) which contains information about arrangements and space news of mainly Danish relevance.
